Savannah- Julia Elizabeth Lewis died on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at her home in Thunderbolt, Georgia surrounded by her family.
She was born December 28, 1926 in Savannah Georgia and has lived here all her life. She was a Charter member of Thunderbolt Baptist Church and a devoted worker at Kiddies Kastle and enjoyed her time and friends at the Thunderbolt Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of the Thunderbolt Museum Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elma Shearouse, her brother, John Shearouse, Jr., and a sister, Mildred Mullis.
She is survived by Cathy Fitzer, Jamie Thomas, and Julieana Hall along with 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Penny Lane and Nell Hagin as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm on Monday June 13 at the Islands Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors.
The funeral service will be at 11:00am on Tuesday June 14 at the Thunderbolt Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
